OUR ROMANCER

He romances, He dances with us and He loves unconditionally!

For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Every girl wants to be loved and saved by her knight in shining armour. Every guy also wants to be loved and be her knight in shining armour. In each of us lies the desire to be loved and held close by someone we are fond of. Sadly, the world has become a twisted and perverse place where love is taken for granted and hearts are left empty and wounded.

If we look at the Bible, we see that the whole book is in fact a love story. I personally am a hopeless romantic and for me love is everything. As we look into the message God has revealed to us through Jesus Christ, we plainly see that the whole purpose to reach us was, and still is, to love us. This love story is in fact the greatest love story there is! We have a Father who created the earth and heavens through His Son because He wanted to speak to us (Hebrews 1:2). We turned away from Him and sinned against Him, separating ourselves from His love and Presence. God sent His Son to earth to be the knight in shining armour and save us from the eternal death and separation we were held captive by. The sinless Son died for all, becoming the ultimate sacrifice for sin and broke the power of death held in the enemy's hands, defeating the enemy! The Son rose again offering an eternal gift of life in covenant with Him. He suffered so that when we suffer He is able to help us through it. He lives, seated in honour at the right hand of God, so that when we die we live in eternity with Him. What a perfect love story this is!

Your new name will be "The City of God's Delight" and "The Bride of God" for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as His bride. Isaiah 61:4

In all Creation, we see God's love and romantic hand - the trees, sky, ocean, animals, and even you and I. Ladies, everyday God sends us flowers, writes us love letters and compliments us. Gents, everyday God encourages you, provides for you and gives you the fruit of your labour. In every way, God intrigues us with His beauty and captivates us with His love. This relationship we have with Him is so precious and pure for it is faultless and made perfect by His love. If you had to start noticing His hand and blessings, you will see how much God cares for you!

We all have a desire to get married someday. Some of you reading this may be married already, or are engaged, or are in love with someone you are seeing, hoping for a future together. Some of you may be single, waiting for the one God is preparing for you. Whatever the case, in the end our greatest Love and bridegroom is Jesus. He is waiting for us as we prepare ourselves for His return. I am no human love expert, I've barely had any experience myself, but I do have my relationship with God that I am learning and loving every day. God is my greatest love in my life and He should be yours too - whether you're married or not. In the end, He is the one we spend eternity with! How beautiful it is to know that we will be together with God forever - always in His love, sharing in His glory and in His Presence forever! Forever is a long time - in fact time isn't found in forever - it just continues.

I have a revelation I want to share with all my single friends. I have always wanted to fall in love, get married and start a family. As I have gotten older, this desire to be with someone grows stronger everyday and this feeling of waiting has brought me down a couple of times. Doubts cross my mind and impatience rises as this desire to be in love keeps growing. But friends, God says "not to awaken love until the time is right" (Song of Songs 8:4). We wait our whole lives on earth to 'physically' be with God - that's a lifetime preparing ourselves and hearts so that when we die, we are immediately present with Him. The gift we see here, is that a lifetime of waiting here on earth does not compare to the lifetime in eternity with Him. Jacob waited several years for Rachel, only to find out that he ended up marrying Leah. He loved Rachel so much that he waited another seven years to eventually be with his true love. Waiting is worthwhile - just like keeping yourself pure for marriage is worthwhile. True love waits. And be encouraged because you have the greatest Love and God living inside of you, with you, and He knows your whole life from beginning to end. What is even better is that God gave you those desires, so you can be sure He will meet them fully and perfectly. Trust in Him for He holds your heart.

Today, I encourage you to stop and notice the small things God romances you with. Whether it is a butterfly passing by or a kind word from a stranger. God loves you so much and nothing in all creation can separate you from His love revealed in Jesus Christ, our Lord (Romans 8:39). You are loved, you are special and you are worth dying for! If God is for you, who can be against you? Be encouraged and may His love compel you in all that you do!

Father God, we come to You in the Name of Jesus. Thank You Lord for comforting us and for romancing us with Your love. May Your love take root in our hearts and may our lives be constantly fulfilled as we seek You more. Jesus, may You comfort those hurting and rejected and may You mend their wounds with Your gentle love. Please may You also instil peace in those who wait on You Lord as You strengthen and prepare their hearts. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
