Jesus Christ - the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God - the One who lives forever!
Blessing and honour and glory and power belong to the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. Revelation 5:13
Have you ever seen a lion in the wild? A giant animal of conquering strength walks with dignity and power as he leads his pride. His female follows first, with a beauty of her own, as his most trusted companion whom she hunts prey for and compassionately commits her affection and healthy cubs to. His cubs, playful and burning with a passion to hunt, follow in his giant paw prints as they learn the way of the wild and become strong lions and lionesses to fill out their own. His mane, in all its majestic beauty, crowns his place in the wild. For every successful hunt and fight for territory, he honours his rule with a mighty, shuddering, and worthy roar. A victory shared as he humbly returns home to his beloved pride - his tribe.
Jesus Christ - the Lion of the tribe of Judah - has won victory and is seated on David's throne in the place of highest honour! This Lion came from a tribe of sinners, of outsiders, of humble kings and of people all called for God's purpose - the tribe of Judah - in which this Lion proved worthy and victorious!
Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne has won the victory. Revelation 5:5
The heart of a lion is strong, victorious, bold and full of courage. If a lion is weak and cannot defend his territory he is cast out and alone for the rest of his life. But look, there is a Lion who has defeated all evil, all sin, and all darkness with a courageous and victorious heart. His victory came from a heart after God's own where righteousness is found and evil is conquered to the point of death. But death could not contain this Lion, for His power and goodness and glory resurrected Him to rise in ultimate victory forever and ever! Jesus Christ sits on the throne next to God today as He watches over His tribe - you and I - whom He loves and fights battles for. Jesus sits on the throne of our hearts - the resurrected King - where in our weakness His power is made perfect and we are made strong (2 Cor. 12:9)! We can conquer the enemy with victorious hearts for our heart posture is surrendered to the Lion of the tribe of Judah who is living and seated in eternal victory! Be bold as a lion. Have courage. The King has won! The King is returning!
Have you ever seen a lamb in the fields? A small creature of gentleness plays in the grass and awaits his fate. His fur as white as snow and his innocence pokes at the hands who hold his fate. But celebration awaits this Lamb, and all who follow the Lamb's footsteps. For the Lamb's sacrifice poured out blood that covers all impurities and washes them clean. At the slaughter, this Lamb humbly accepted His treatment and not a word escaped His mouth (Isaiah 53:7). With one purpose moved by love became this Lamb of ultimate sacrifice.
For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:17
This Lamb of God has become our Shepherd. This Lamb represents the ultimate sacrifice that He took upon so that the blood shed can cover our sin and forgive us of our wrongdoings. This blood formed a new covenant with God and His people so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)! This blood confirms this agreement and announces the Lamb's Holy work and suffering. Through this blood flows purity that washes away guilt and dresses those who follow Him with white robes. This blood is Holy for it is pumped from a heart that is gentle, loving and forgiving. This heart of the Lamb is worthy of being praised and sought after because it comforts, it leads, it is sinless, and it follows God. This heart posture of ultimate sacrifice forged an unbreakable promise to all who He shepherds, as from it Love prevails.
A heart surrendered is a heart victorious. Jesus Christ - the sinless man - is the Lamb who is dressed in ultimate sacrifice to dress those in His blood that marks them as His followers because they are washed clean. Jesus Christ - the Son of God - is the Lion of the tribe of Judah who is seated in ultimate victory to seat those at His table that offers eternal life with Him because they came out victorious.
We live with hearts following after God's because we have given our lives as a holy and acceptable offering to Him. Our heart posture needs to be one of surrender - wholehearted surrender - so that God can love us and do in us the work He intends to do, so we may share in His victory when Jesus returns again! Jesus gave us His heart - all He wants is yours. God wants you to know His love. He has shown His love to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. There isn't any other love out there that is deeper and greater than the Love that grants sacrifice to God's Son for people that He healed, forgave, taught and loved unconditionally, to the point of death by the hands of the very people He wanted to save, so that you and I may still know Him and share in His victory and live in His love. God proved His love to us and desire for us by allowing Jesus to die for us so that when He resurrected we may see His glory and His worthiness of being worshipped. After His resurrection, Jesus still came after us. He is still running after our hearts today. Even though He has victory, He loves us so much He still wants to share His victory with us. His blood separates us from the sin and evil desires and keeps us in the new covenant that promises eternity with Him. He made our hearts His home so that we may know Him and He may know us.
We now have hearts that are bold, gentle and victorious. We have the heart of Jesus.
Praise God! Praise the Lamb of God! Praise the Lion of the tribe of Judah! HALLELUJAH!
Father God, I come to You with a surrendered heart, thankful for the work of Your Son, Jesus. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice and for Your blood washing away the sin blotted on my heart. Thank You for Your body broken and bruised so that I am healed. Thank You for Your heart that proves victorious and worthy of being followed. Thank You for Your life revealed in and through me so that I can be loved by You, I can learn to trust and love You more and I can reveal You to others. Lord, I look forward to Your return and I thank You for Your Presence now within me. May Your Name be glorified, blessed, honoured and worshipped in all of heaven and earth. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty - the One Who always was, Who is, and Who is still to come. Revelation 4:8
